Built for Canadian Homes, Not Adapted for Them

DVSIC is Canada's dryer vent safety certification body — grounded in the National Building Code of Canada, not adapted from a U.S.-based standard.

Protecting Canadian Homes, One Certified Professional at a Time

OUR MISSION

The Dryer Vent Safety Institute of Canada (DVSIC) is dedicated to protecting Canadian homes and families by advancing the highest standards of dryer vent cleaning, inspection, and maintenance across the country.

We believe dryer vent fires are preventable. Through rigorous training, standardized best practices, and the Certified Canadian Dryer Vent Professional (CCDVP) designation, we equip technicians with the knowledge and skills to identify hazards, perform safe and effective service, and educate homeowners on ongoing maintenance.

Our commitment extends beyond individual certification. DVSIC works to raise national awareness of dryer vent safety, support consistent standards across provinces, and build public trust in the professionals who carry our designation.

A Canadian Standard, From the Ground Up

WHY DVSIC EXISTS

Every established dryer vent credential in North America is U.S.-based, built around U.S. code. DVSIC is the first certification built specifically around the National Building Code of Canada and real provincial variation — from Quebec's duct length rules to Alberta's clearance requirements. Canadian homes deserved a standard built for them, not adapted for them after the fact.

What Every Certified DVSIC Professional Represents

Continuous Improvement

Together, we're building a safer standard for dryer vent service in Canada — one home, one vent, and one certified professional at a time.
