Become a Certified Canadian Dryer Vent Professional

An open-book training program built around the National Building Code of Canada — study at your own pace, then take the exam when you're ready.

A Real Standard, Not a Certificate of Attendance

What CCDVP Covers

The CCDVP designation certifies you as a qualified professional in dryer vent cleaning, inspection, and maintenance, along with the installation of visible, non-structural vent components — transition ducts, clamps and connections, and termination caps.

CCDVP is not an appliance repair credential, and it's not a ventilation-system installation credential. It's a focused standard for the work Canadian dryer vent technicians actually do — built around real Canadian code, not adapted from a U.S.-based standard.

Three Steps, at Your Own Pace

1.Study

Work through the open-book training manual at your own pace. Take notes, revisit any section as many times as you need.

2.Take the Exam

Complete a 50-question, multiple-choice exam. Since the program is open-book, you're welcome to reference the manual while completing it. Submit it to DVSIC for grading.

3.Get Certified

A passing result (80% or higher) earns you the Certified Canadian Dryer Vent Professional designation.

Simple Annual Renewal

MAINTAINING YOUR CERTIFICATION

The CCDVP designation is renewed annually. Renewal doesn't require retaking the exam — it simply requires an annual renewal payment to keep your certification active and in good standing.
